So I picked up the viper 791xv a few years back for my 92 Acura Integra. But i've been having some issues. The car never came with a factory alarm and didn't have power door lock. I put an aftermarket actuator and installed a cheapy alarm. It worked great but I wanted the piece of mind of having the 2way while on campus, not to mention I got it at my Best Buy discount right before I quit.
I installed it because the discount didn't include the installation, I've done motor swaps and sound systems plus the first alarm install myself so I did the 791xv myself. Everything works just fine, locks unlocks, displays on the remote just fine. But I swear the shock sensor does not work at all, I've even tried adjusting it to the highest sensitity and it does nothing. I can Bang on the car loud enough it ecco's throughout the neighborhood and still doesn't go off. I know it does work because sometimes just walking by the car and accidentally hitting my knee against the bumper will set it off. I have also switched the location of the shock sensor to different bundles of wires and panels to see if there would be any change. Heck I've even gone under the dash and knocked on the actual sensor while armed and sometimes it goes of and other times it doesn't.
I have noticed that no matter what, when I unlock the car the display always says that the sensor 1 has been set off and shows the hammer and door open? I don't understand why. Even if I unplug the shock sensor it says the same thing on the remote.
Another thing is for some reason my LED is always blinking, no matter what even when driving. I just can't figure it out, I want to install a proximity sensor and tilt sensor but I want to at least get this thing working correctly before I add anything else that could cause problems. I only installed the alarm. The remote start I could care less about. It was basically the same wiring as the cheapy ebay one I had first.
Any help would be great. It's worthless to have an alarm if it never wants to go off. Thanks in Advanced, sorry for the length.

You never hooked up the ignition input of the alarm. Did you even hook up a starter kill?
There is a ribbon cable with 8 wires (blue, orange, yellow, pink, pink/white, orange, ORANGE / black and purple). You can cut one end of the plug off the harness. Connect the yellow wire to the ignition wire in the car. Next time you turn on your ignition, your shock sensor will reset and the LED will reset as well.
You may want to add a starter kill while you are there. If so, just do the following.
yellow wire in harness above from alarm brain --> terminal 86 of relay ---> ignition wire in car.
ORANGE / black wire in harness above ---> terminal 85 of a relay
Next, cut the starter wire in the vehicle in half.
Connect one side to terminal 30 of a relay
Connect the other side of the starter wire to 87a
Terminal 87 of the relay will not be used.
After all this is done, arm the alarm while sitting inside. Wait at least 10 seconds. Then try to start the car. It should not start, and the alarm should start going off.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
