As referenced in this post   https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=92076&KW=chdl7pk2  the CHDL7-PK2 shipping wiring diagram now shows the 1k ohm resister to chassis ground. from the pink lead (starter in) and also is labeled as being connected parallel to RCS starter wires and vehicle. Does this lead get connected to vehicle start wire, rcs start wire and 1k resistor to ground?

I get strange display on PRND12 indicator when resister is connected and also cannot get remote start to work

The wire only gets connected in parallel to ground on vehicles that don't have a conventional (+) starter wire - if the vehicle does have one then remove the resistor.

I called Trilogix and they had me move the resistor and pink wire to one of the RS active during remote start contacts tied to the rs starter wire. This eliminated my display issue but it looks like it was all for nothing if the resistor is not needed. I disconnected the resistor and I get the same results. I have not checked resistive values but the problem appears to be with the MUX. Somebody suggested isolating the MUX wire (pink/white) with a relay so I'll try that next.

I wouldn't worry too much about the mux wire if everything is working fine now...the 1000 ohm resistor on the starter in the diagram you mentioned serves a different purpose.
The CHDL7-PK2 needs to see a somewhat grounded rest state on the (+) start input so that it can distinguish the "starter active" state - on a Chrysler that has a positive starter wire it gets that rest state through the relays and control modules that the wire powers.
On a Chrysler without the conventional starter wire, that (+) start input would be only connected to the relay "start" output from the remote starter, which doesn't connect to anything at rest. This would result in the Bypasskit module not recognizing when it should crank, not supplying the correct signal to the mux wire on the car, and the car wouldn't remote start.
