I can't steal my own car.
My car (1995 M3) has an aftermarket alarm system installed. It has a switch underneath the steering column that turns it on and off.
I didn't install it. I don't know what brand or model it is. I don't know where it's installed. I hate it. When the alarm goes off, it has that prototypical annoying car alarm sound: Four unique sounds that rotate in turn, pauses for a minute, then starts up again.
Bwoooooop. Bwoooooop. Bwooooooop. Bwooooop.
ENG! ENG! ENG! ENG! ENG! ENG! ENG! ENG!
Laaaaaaaaddeeeeee laaaaddeeeee laaaaaadeeeee
Gowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgowgow...
Does anyone have any idea what the brand or model is for this thing??
I can't start my car, and I can't shut off the alarm (I ripped the noise "horn" out long ago, but the ignition is still disabled). I've tried locking, unlocking, unlocking again, turning my car on and off and on, switching the alarm switch back and forth, in various different configurations and orders. I disconnected the battery for a minute, and reconnected it, and the alarm picked up right where it left off. I am absolutely stumped.
The only outstanding thing I'm aware of is that I can't turn my key in the passenger door. The door locks and unlocks fine from the automatic lock, so....I just don't know.
I'm boggled. I've been left stranded by POS cars plenty of times, but never have I ever been so handily thwarted by so pathetic a piece of electronics. I never meant to turn the thing on, my foot hit the switch.

Best thing to do is take a look under the dash and find the brain of the alarm, read off the brand and model and then look on this site for how to put it into valet mode. also what does your remote look like if you have it. after that you could take it somewhere and have them remove it for a fee or you could take it out yourself if you feel comfortable. as for the pass. side locks it most likely has nothing to do with the alarm.

I never figured out the make or model, but I learned that if I disconnected the battery, turned the "kill" switch to off, put the key in the ignition and turned it to the "on" position, then reconnected the battery, the alarm reset itself and the I was able to start the car.

Be careful if you do go and rip it out because if it doesn't start while it's going off then they've got started kill hooked up and if you just unhook the control module it will still not allow you to start the car until you solder back together the starter wire.
A DMM is a beautiful thing.
