Hello,

I have a 1999 honda Accord and I just got the Viper 130xv remote starter in installed a couple of weeks ago.

My question is this:  When it gets very cold out side, sometimes when I use the remote start, there's a delay of about 10-15 seconds before it actually starts my car.  The car will initially try to start but will turned-off , but  than, the car will automatically within the 10-15 seconds.

It seems weird to me that the only time it deso that is when it's very cold out and it does not do that all the times. May be it's just a fluke?

Anyone can help I would appreciated.

when it it very cold outside your car probably takes longer to crank than when it is warm. so, the car might not start the first time it tries to crank the starter. the remote starter senses that the car did not start either through the tach wire, or voltage level. so when it knows that the car isn't running yet the remote starter is naturally programmed to try to start the car again after a few seconds. it will do this a few more times and if it doesn't start it will just shut off and not try again until you press the remote again.
solutions: if it stays cold where you are most of the time you might want to go back to the shop where you had the remote start installed and ask them nicely to increase the crank time for a second or so longer. this should fix your issue
