The alarm was good for about 2 months, then the batteries died on the first cold morning that I got this winter. Replaced the batteries and now the alarm doesn't act the same. Sometimes I have to push the buttons on the remote three or four times for it respond. Sometimes the alarm will be armed but the remote says unarmed and vise versa.  The siren goes off but you can barely hear it when the parking or headlights are on, even when driving. The chirps the alarm makes are different too, it makes a long woop, woop sound when arming and unarming. Sometimes when arming the remote will flash the door sensor indicator five times. I rechecked all my wiring and fuses and everything seems good. Does anyone got any advice? Thanks!

i had some issues with vipers and compustars as well. when the battery dies, you boost the car or disconnect power it acts up. just remove power to the main unit (pull the fuse) for 30 seconds, unplug antenna and remove battery from the remote and leave it out as i mentioned 30 seconds. after thatplug back the antenna, power up the unit, place the battery back and push lock on the remote. then all should be well..

I did that and still have the same problem. I have tried calling viper support but was on hold for over an hour until I gave up.
