Ok, so Ive got a 04 Dodge RAM QC. I bought an alarm and am trying to hook it all up. I am familiar with electrical and electronics so Im not new to this stuff but am a bit confused on this one. Ive got my wiring sheet from Direct Wire also.

On this alarm there are two light outputs and here are how they are written in the manual.

Pin 2 : Brown - Light 1 output (+). Connect to the left parking lights of the vehicle.

Pin 3 : Brown - Light 2 output (-\+). Output is 7A  (+) and 250mA (-). The light 2 switch (-\+) is on the main board, the default is (+) output.

So my question is which one do I use?

Here is a link to the wiring sheet for the truck BTW. THX ever so much to everyone.

you can use either. the light 2 output is for optional lights incase your lighting system was a negative trigger.

Thanks. Thats kinda what I thought. But isnt the negative trigger output what I need because the Direct Wire sheet says this:

Parking Lights+ wht/yel (L), wht/gray (R)   +   harness at top of driver fender

Parking Lights- WHITE/ lt. green   -   headlight switch
Notes: Parking lights are negative trigger thru a 249 or 330 ohm resistor. MUST use a relay.

So by negative trigger output does this means is provides a ground? And how would I go about wiring this up?

I need some help wiring a negative trigger relay for my alarm lights. This is for a 2004 Dodge Ram. The pin on the wiring harness of the alarm reads af follows:

Pin 3 - Brown: Light2 output (-/+) Output is 7A  (+) and 250mA (-). The light2 switch (+/-) is on the main board, the default is (+).

So according to Direct Wire it says:

Parking Lights- WHITE/ lt. green   -   headlight switch

Notes: Parking lights are negative trigger thru a 249 or 330 ohm resistor. MUST use a relay.

So can someone please help me wire this? THX

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram that I am putting an alarm on before I put my audio gear in and need a bit of help. I actually have the wiring diagram for the relays for a negative trigger door locks. However, the way this alarm is, wiring those relays only pops the drivers door. There is another harness with a blue wire and it is supposed to pop all doors after pressing the disarm button once and then a second time.

Here is what the manual reads for that blue wire:

Blue: Second unlock (passenger unlock)  output (-) 200mA. This system is equipped with a dedicated passenger unlock output allowing a two stage door unlock operation. When this wire is connected, disarming the system will unlock only the drivers door. Pressing the button again will unlock all doors.

So my question is how does this get wired into the system. I mean if I have to add 2 relays just for the drivers door, shouldnt there be more relays for the blue wire and if so, how do I wire this?

Someone please help because Im getting lost.

find a WHITE/ gray wire up inside left of the steering column. Imagine going STRAIGHT behind the OBD2 plug..... it's hard to get to. but it's there! behind that little chunk of metal frame. (the metal that will slice your flesh like a razor) You will need to pull on the wires, so do it carefully....

How-a-about a serious helpful detailed answer to resolve the issue?

For your parking lights:
Grab yourself the 249 or 330 resistor, whichever it happens to be in your case, and the relay.
If you want to use that selectable output on your alarm, remember to flip that (+/-) switch to negative.
Place some wire on pin 30 of your relay, solder on a resistor at the free end, then solder on another piece of wire after that, then connect that to a good ground (scrape off some paint and screw it in with a star washer if possible).
Pin 87a you will not use
pin 87 will go to your (-) parking light wire in the truck
pin 85 to your parking light output wire on the alarm (remember to make sure to flip the switch to negative)
pin 86 to 12v constant.
That should do it,
another way you can do that is keep 87a, 87, and 30 the same..
connect 85 to ground
and 86 to either of your parking light outputs set to (+)
The way it's worded in your manual, it sounds like this alarm has outputs for isolated light circuits such as your particular positive parking lights, you could just hook up one set to the left, and one to the right no?
Or just use one set, add in two diodes, cathode side towards the lights, anodes bonded together with parking light wire from the alarm, and each respective diode to it's parking light wire, one left, one right.
Sorry if I'm giving you too many options here.
Personally I would go with:
85-ground
86-parking light output from alarm (+)
87-parking light wire in truck
30-ground through 330Ω/249Ω resistor
remember to test and make sure you have the right parking light wire.

as for your lock question:
Two relays should be all you need to lock and unlock all of the doors.
wire up your relays as follows:
Relay 1:
85-lock output from alarm
86-constant 12v
30-ground
87-to lock/unlock wire in truck through 820Ω resistor
Relay 2:
85-unlock output from alarm
86-constant 12v
30-ground
87-to lock/unlock wire in truck through 330Ω
you only need that 2nd unlock output wire if you're going to be wiring up relays to each individual unlock motor sides.
