I bought a Bravada about 2 weeks ago, it came with remote start already installed (code alarm ca420), but they didn’t give me the remotes, said they didn’t have them. I looked into buying new remotes for them, they were about 50 bucks, so what I did is upgrade the system with a code alarm CA501, which is the same wiring harness, but the antenna and program button with led are all in the same.
The problem I am having is, at first I could get the vehicle to start; it flashed the lights 7 times, which means teach the tach. I tried to teach the tach several times, but no luck, so I switched the settings to tachless, it started, then shut right off, started again, shut right off, did that one more time. Is there anything I should try before taking it into a professional to have them look at it?
Side note, it is equipped with the pass2 bypass module.
Thank you

Try doing a valet take over when you're encountering this no start condition(i.e. car's already running with the key and you activate the remote start). Wait 10 seconds or so from when the lights flash/remote start clicks.
If it stays running just fine when you turn the key to off, and doesn't grind the starter, that points toward the bypass having an issue.
If it grinds the starter or the car shuts off, it's more likely a tach/voltage sensing issue. Where and by what method(t-tap, butt connector, solder) is the tach wire connected?

well assuming the tach wire is the the wire under the hood that spliced into a module around the fuel rail, it just looked like the wire was stripped and then taped up with electircal tape and the heat sheild around the wire looked like it had touched the exhaust manifold, i shorten then wire up a hair then i took a butt connector and spliced into it, tried to teach the tach again, and it actually worked.. other than that wire all the installation looked like a professional did it. but it works great now. thanks
