I appologize if this topic has been covered. Any reference in previouos topics were a bit over my head & I could not make sense of them.

I am installing a Hornet 569T in my 08 Jeep Wrangler.

The Techtips document 184 shows the wiring I need but the 569T has positive orange accessory & positive purple start wires (not negative as shown on the document).

Do I simply switch the 12V & ground (86 & 87)on the relays? If not, how would I compensate for the positive outputs or the 569T?

The 2nd start mux is a problem common to all late model Chryslers.
The best solution IMO is to use a bypass module(necessary in any case on a vehicle with the SentryKey immobilizer) which gives you an resistive output wire that can be connected directly; and you wouldn't need to bother with any extra relay and resistor wiring.
Barring that - can you scan the wiring diagram for the 569T, or at least type out the wire descriptions? It's got the large gauge wires which connect individually to the brain, correct?

Thanks Chris.

I do have the required sentry key immobilizer bypass (DirectEd 556cw) and I am familiar with how they install so I believe I am all set there.

I also found the correct wiring diagram for the mux wire on my vehicle on another site so I am all set there too. Here it is for reference.

2nd start/accy wiring + -- posted image.

My only confusion now is that I have to wiring charts for the 08 wrangler, one from BOA & one from WireMagic & they give different resister values for the accessorry & 2nd start wires.  560 & 600 for the accessory & 160 & 180 for the 2nd starter.

My gut is telling me to use 560 & 180....any thoughts?

I believe both sets of resistor values will work fine. I used Wire Magic diagram in (2) 2007 Jeep Wranglers & they worked perfect..

Accessory is PURPLE / dk. green @ the Ignition switch, through 600 ohm resistor & a relay (- trigger).

Starter is same wire through 180 ohm resistor & a relay (-trigger).

I'm assuming the + outputs are high current relay outputs?  If so, I would use the + output to drive two seperate relays and use the two seperate relays to drive the ACC and two seperate relays to drive the STARTER out.

So, basically you would have the orange output wires to pin 85 of two relays, pin 86 wired to ground of both relays.  Wire pin 30 of both relays to high current 12vdc and pin 87 of each relay would be your 1st and 2nd outputs.  Do the same thing for the starter.

Using two seperate relays keeps the isolation between the two circuits.  It probably isn't absolutely required to do use two relays, you may be able to get away with one but there won't be isolation between the two circuits anymore as the OEM switch will backfeed in to the added relays and trigger them whenever there is voltage on the them.

KPierson, that wouldn't be necessary in this case. The '08 Wrangler doesn't have any positive wires for start or accessory, just a positive ignition and the negative mux wire. Therefore there's no factory wiring to backfeed and activate the mux.
Good idea though on a slightly older Chrysler which did have the positive starter as well. Either that or double isolate with 6A diodes.

Thanks for all the help you guys. I think I have all my ducks in a row on this project now.

I made up the connections from the diagram above using the 560 & 180 resistors (Radio Shack didn't have the others anyways).

Once I make the final connections in the vehicle and get it working (fingers crossed) I will post the final results here for the record.
