I ordered a replacement remote for my Python model 871xp with remote start.  The one I ordered is for a Viper however it says it's compatible with the Python.

The problem is, and I feel like a tool asking this, but I am not exactly sure on how to program it.  Looking at the chart just confusses the hell outta me.

http://www.directedstore.com/manuals/488V.pdf

In other words, do I use channel 7 and all buttons will work (lock/unlock to unlock the doors and * will perform the remote start like on the original remote) or do I have to program each button separately? And if so, which channel?

Thanks!

its easy. first find the valet button, next, do these steps without too much hesitation in between ok.
turn the key to ignition or run position. DO NOT START
next press the valet button once, release it completely, then press it again and hold it, dont let go! now while you are still holding the valet button press the arm button on your new keypad. after this you can let go of the valet button and you should be done.
if by some chance the remote start button doesn't work, you just start over and repeat the same steps EXCEPT you need to press and release the valet button 5 times then press it again and hold it. while you are still holding it press the remote start button once on the keypad and then you can let go and turn off the ignition. test it and then you are done

Just to be clear, if I end up having to use this method, do I press the valet once, release it completely, then press and release it 5 more times?
