I have a Viper 771XV from my 2005 Envoy. The Dealer removed it when I traded it in and now I want to install it in my 2006 Envoy. I have most everything done already except the passlock stuff. Could somebody tell me what wires will be needed on the 555L and where they need to connect. I can't seem to find the yellow passlock wire. I see about 5 small yellow wires in the ignition harness but I do not know how to test to see if they are for the passlock. Also the previous installer had the pink wire taped off when I thought it was supposed to be used. Someone please help, I am tired of searching and it getting cold outside.

envoyxl,
The 3 passlock wires to the key cylinder are RED / white, ORANGE / black, and yellow.
Ideally you could take the shroud off of the steering column and follow the wires to the key cylinder.
You could also look at the steering column wiring connector(the gigantic thing with all the wires for the column and a 7mm bolt in the middle which connects it). The wires will go through that connector - I'm 99% certain that they are found adjacent to each other.
Which pink wire was taped off?

Yeah it was pink white that was taped off. I have everything working now. I really wante dto know how to identify and test the passlock wires. I do not like going by colors and guessing like alot of you guys do. Since I never got an answer I just took off the steeringwheel shroud and followed the wires. If I had guessed I would have guessed correctly.

My only problem now is that the alarm does not trip when the doors open, and the alarm chirps one extra time delayed due to the dome light sstaying on after shutting the doors. I thought the 455g was supposed to monitor the doors and dome light?

I installed a 771VX viper remote start/alarm in my Envoy. I used a 555L and a 455G module. When I open the doors the alarm does not trigger but the factory alarm does still trigger the horn honk. The Viper won't trigger until I try to start  it. Also when I arm it the alarm gives a second chirp after a short delay because the dome light is on. I thought the 455G was supposed to cover the door triggers and dome light delay. Did I do something wrong? Give me some ideas guys. Thanks.

Did you connect the domelight input wire on the 455G?

Understand the alarm won't trigger until after the passlock light on the dash has gone out. Have you tried just waiting a full minute before trying it?

envoyxl, I like randomly grabbing wires without testing even less than you do. Unfortunately the Passlock R-code wire is not really conducive to identification with a DMM; if I was thinking right I'd have suggested you cut the wire and then try to start the car.
Anyway that's old. As far as your door trigger, however, where do you have it connected to?
