I just bought the Valet 712T and would like to try my luck for the very first time to deal with my car's electrical (other than one time battery change). If possible, I need some detailed step by step instructions, because the manual is not for dummy DIYers like me :)

First batch of questions:

1. do I need a multi-meter?

2. do I need a drill to mount the unit?

3. do I need a soldering iron to connect wires?

Thanks in advance!

Yes

Yes (LED & valet)

and Yes

Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.
