Sorry to make another thread...the others seemed to be closed.
Im trying to turn my lights on constant instead of flashing when using R/S.
Heres what I did with no luck:
Ignition on then off
Held the valet untill I heard 3 chirps
Pressed the valet 5 times and held on the 5th time, heard 4 chirps
Pressed disarm on the receiver and heard the two-chirps
then I closed door and the lights still flashed when I R/s.
I also tried turning the ignition on then off for the last step and still the lights flashed...
Any ideas on what Im doing wrong? When Im doing the process its giving me all the correct chirps so im not sure what to do now.

  • Year/Make/Model of vehicle?

Did you get an exit confirmation from programming, when closing the door or turning on the ignition? Is it possible the installer connected the LIGHT FLASH ouput to your hazards? How often(flashes per second) do the lights flash?

01 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I got a notification it was exited.
Also it does blink like the hazards. When I first did the R/s I thought my hazards were on and tryed to turn them off :)
So this is just how its wired up and cant be changed with out rewiring?

i don't have the programming in front of me right now, but if you are following the programming guide and gaining entry to the needed feature for programming the lights to be constant instaed of pulsed and it's still not working, here's what could be happening, if the installer connected the flash output to a single wire that requires either a positive or negative polarity pulse to activate both indicators, whether or not you program it for constant or pulsed the lights will always blink, (since this wire normally requires a constant polarity to activate both of the relays to blink the indicators, normally you find this connection at the hazard switch) what you may need to do is find the individual indicator wires and diode isolate or you can take the flash to the parking lights.

the default setting is for them to flash... you can easily change it in the programming menu with a Bitwriter... or else go to Menu 3 item 4... sounds like you changed your crank time if you went to item 5...   you want to go to menu 3 and press it 4 times then hold it and press unlock on the remote....

I'm pretty sure it's programmed correctly and you wired the LIGHT FLASH output to the hazards. Here is the correct wiring.

I got the correct indication chirps. I should have said I pressed and released 4 times, then held on the 5th to access line 4 :)
So it seems like it just a matter of switching some wires around or diode isolating something :) Ill take it to the installer and ask him if it would be something he could quickly do for me.
I appreciate the responses and great help. Thanks
