Hi everyone,
I have a 2009 Acura MDX and have installed a Python 872, Xpress Kit DLPK, & Xpress kit PKALL.
Everything is hooked up right with d2d for the DLPK and Wire 2 wire for the PKALL.
The car functions as it should with all the features listed on Directed, and fortin's website for the bypasses such as trunk pop, tach, lock and unlock... however, if the remote start is deactivated by the brake pedal, runtime runs out, or any other early shut off.. the trunk of the care opens.
This does not happen when taking over the vehicle with the key after its started. Only happens when the vehicle is remote started and shutdown abnormally.
I called directed and they said to switch to wire to wire and see if there are any issues that way but simply said, thats a pain and im looking to see if anyone else has had this issue in the past.
I threw out the wire harness from the DLPK so now i cant even do Wire 2 wire if i wanted.
Thanks for any help

Mods you can close this topic. I figured out the issue..
My makeshift pin (since i threw out the main harness, for ignition was also touching the trunk pop pin on the bypass. Therefore when the car shutsdown the bypass got a negative from the ignition wire..causing the trunk to pop.
Thanks

So the events that occured:

  • You threw out the harness.
  • Then attempted the installation.

Why would you throw out the harness?

Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

I threw out the harness because the fortin website has a specific install diagram from the mdx that says i do not need an ignition wire to hook up.
Im using D2D so i figured i would be all set. Apparently i was wrong and now need to find somewhere to buy just a harness or I will just order a new bypass. Really not a big issue since I have found the problem and it isn't too hard of a fix.
