idatalink bypass modules

we are an autopage dealer and have been using the idatalink bypass modules and ive gotta say, they are steadily gettin worse, quality wise, ive always used dei modules and had no issues over the years but the boss wont get them for reasons im not gonna get into, i was just curious if anyone else has had any experiences with them, please share....

Funny....I use Dei bypasses now (not by choice) and have nothing but problems. I use fortin bypasses or idatalink on most of side jobs, and at my last job and rarely have a problem...especially with the fortin stuff. Most of the problems I have run across on any of these brands, seem to happen on the more complicated cars....example...chrysler...not sending the correct signals to the mux...

We have switched to practically all Idatalink and i rarely have an issue. We used to use DEI and i didn't like it. We do still some DEI, like the 556U and 556C....Mike M2

mikvot that is what we mainly have issues with is the chryslers, and also some fords, i have used the newer dei's on side jobs with now issues, the only issue ive had with the dei is the customer getting the wrong module. im tryin to do an rs900 in a 08 jeep wrangler unlimited and using the al-ca module and it shows nuthin but a flashing red led and will not flash, before that the tbsl c2 was flat out dead out of the box, weve had 1 instance where i did 1 in a 08 f250 and it left the truck inoperable and the customer stranded when the truck kicked out the module and all keys programmed to it.....and the tech support from ads adn autopage is completely useless, especialy autopage, ussually all they can tell me is what is on the print out and cant offer any true actuall support...

I have been using iData modules for about a year now. They are great. I have had a few issues with them, but iData has resolved these very quickly with software updates. The multi modules are great as they cover so many vehicles. These modules can save a lot of time installing on some vehicles by reducing the number of wires required to hook up and utilizing the vehicle's data bus to derive many inputs to the remote starter. Just remember that all systems have their limitations. I have seen many a module get the blame for problems, wherein it was a poor install causing the problem.sparky

Most of the problems we've had with idata we're caused buy the modual not flashed (software loaded), light wouldn't turn on, the other led flashing and not confirming programming caused by not resetting the modual before plugging it in.  Found their support good.
