I'm installing a Viper 5901 and I'm looking for some help with the lock/unlock wires. The diagrams say to use the purple and GREEN/ black wires coming from the kick panel but I'm getting no results. I also found that I can use a blue/white and gray wires on the other harness coming from the kick panel. Hooking the lock/unlock from the alarm to the blue/white and gray wires function properly with the exception of not getting priority unlock for the driver followed by the other 3 doors.
It appears that there is more to it then just hooking up the alarm wires to the GREEN/ black and purple wires to the vehicles wiring. However, I can't find any further explanation. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Nothing special about them , standard negative pulses in the harness coming from the door. They are wrapped up and the plugs there are loose(not mounted like most Toyota plugs). Done tons of them with no issues using the purple and the GREEN/ black. Are you testing them by turning the key in the drivers door cylinder? They won't test via the door switch...

Just to clarify, all I need to do is splice the DEI green and blue wires directly into the purple and GREEN/ black wires going to the door? I'll have to double check everything, maybe the artificial lighting had me splicing into the wrong wires. I'll take pictures to clarify, but at this point it doesn't make sense. I don't remember the connector being a 12-ping like the diagram says, but it's the only harness coming from the door with purple and GREEN/ black wires on it.
Thanks for the reply

I figured it out. It should be noted that there are 2 wiring harnesses coming from the drivers door and BOTH of them have purple and a GREEN/ black wires. The smaller wires are the proper ones to use. Thanks for your help.

I agree, I was using a DMM but for wasn't getting in results for two reasons. The 1st reason is that the wiring diagram doesn't indicate that the door lock switch doesn't show results on those particular wires in the kick panel. The 2nd reason that there are actually two wires of each color coming through the kick panel. As soon as I figured this out, the DMM was showing the proper results. I use and recommend always using a DMM.

A lot of those tech sheets completely fail to mention that the wires you're after are the key-cylinder wires coming from the keyswitch on the outside of the door.
It all makes perfect sense after you know it.............but, yeah, it's pretty much inexcusable that the wiring sheet doesn't list it like it should. They list it on some Toyotas but not others.
