1998 bmx 328is manual transmission

i have been looking for a way to integrate the factory alarm with a two way starter and everything i find only shows how to disarm the factory alarm

i was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to arm the system as well

is it  a type one arm (lock and doorpin negative  pulse ) and a negative trigger disarm at the alarm module or would i have to use a factory keyfob and integrate that into my install ?

thanks for any info

The only way to arm and disarm the factory alarm is with the factory remote. What you can do is take apart the OEM remote control and activate the arm function via a relay that triggers the OEM remote's ARM feature. THis would mean giving up one of the OEM alarm FOB's under the dash.

The factory alarm arms with any remote when it controls the locks,  thus if you have a R/S with locking, you control thee factory arm/disarm. Over here I've always installed Clifford/Viper or Clifford with Intellistart and never any problems.  If the R/S is a standalone the trick would be to use a neg factory alarm to the blue/red in the loom coming from the driver's dor and rearm to the WHITE/ black in the same lom. That wil unlock the doors as you start the car.
