I have to install a remote start to a 96 Buick Skylark and was wondering if i need a bypass. I think i need a 555L but not sure. If so do i use passlock 1 or passlock 2. Thank you in advance.

You wouldn't have passlock on that car. VATS maybe. Check the key. if it has a resistor in it you will have to do a bypass.

open up the sterring column. If you see three wires a yellow. black and yellow and black going to the key switch then you will need a 555l. Its pretty easy to install just takes a lil time. More than likely you will need the 555l. I had a 97achieva and a 96 grand am and they both took the 555l. open up the steering colums. 3 7mm bolts on the bottom and unscrew the tilt lever and it should come apart. Let us know what you find.
