I bought the xr9000 3 days ago online. Sadly, it did not came with the installation booklet. i have install the other prestige models, so I'm familiar with the harness on the alarm. My question is: how come it doesn't have a switch for the remote start? and if does please tell me where it is because i see no place for it. And if it does supposed to come with one please tell me so i can called them and demand for a new one. Also, I see that they moved the starter button to the front, leaving 2 buttons on the side for extra modules. what channel does button 1 and 2 control? Thank you.

www.audiovox.com click on Customer Service, click on Manuals ........... it brings you to a search page. Don't use hyphens.
Search for XR9000. If that doesn't work, try searching for PRO9801 or PRO9801XR, even though the remotes are different, it should be the same install.
The newest Audiovox units don't use a separate control switch. To disable the remote start, there's a sequence involving cycling the ignition, and pressing the LED pushbutton.
Buttons 1 and 2:
1 should be the Channel 4 (GREEN/ black) output, which is intended to turn on the rear defroster, but you can get away with using it as a trunk output too if needed. In programming, you can make it a 1-second pulse (default), or timed for 10 minutes, depending on defroster type in the car.
2 doesn't do anything out of the box, it's not programmed to anything.
That unit should have three more programmable outputs, channels 5,6, and 7.
If you intend to use any of those extra channels, you'll need to go and reprogram the remotes.......you could use the 2 button, or 1 and 2 together, or lock and unlock together......or pretty much whatever combination you want, to trigger those new channels.

So the RS is enabled? or do i have to go in the programming mode and enable it? As for the buttons on the side, Im planning on using the button 1 for a window roll up module.
Thank you for for the info. I was confuse as why it did not come with the RS switch. I did use the search button but it wasn't what I need it.

You're welcome.
RS should already be enabled. Won't work until you either program the car's tach rate, or reprogram to voltage sensing if desired.........but default out of the box it should be disabled.
And depending on what your window rollup module wants for a signal, just remember that that GREEN/ black channel 4 (button 1) has limited options. 1-second pulse or 10-minute pulse, that's it.
Are you dead set on it being the #1 button? Or could it just as well be #2?
The channels 5, 6, and 7 offer more flexibility in their timing, which may be of use to you.
So let's say you end up needing to use channel 5 for your window module.........
You could just program button #2 to Channel 5 and be done.
The other choice would be to de-program the 1 button from channel 4, and then reprogram it to be channel 5...........but it's a real pain and I can't really remember how to do it. If it's something really necessary, I could try to remember, but I"m not so sure it's worth it.

Im not set to use button 1. I just don't want to program a channel to a button. So if channel 4 is pre-programmed to be controlled by button 1, then i will use it. Same if button 2 was pre-programmed to control channel 5, then i could use it too. Im using DEI window roll up module, 530T. I think all it needs is a one pulse to make it go down 1 inch, and to make it roll all the way down, i have to hold the programmed button. If this alarm is like the previous alarm, the one that has option button on the side, then it should be fine to use button 1 on this newer alarm, right?

Also, the window roll up is going in a 95 chevy truck, is there any special info i need to know before I take apart the door panel? or is it straight forward like the a normal car would be. By that i mean, can i just cut the wire coming from the switch to the motor for the up direction and connect the module wires to them.(same for the down direction and passenger side) I'm asking because i know i have to use relays for the unlock, lock function, and i was just wondering if i do something special to the window wires in order to make it work. Thanks.

If anyone is searching for the installation or owner's manual go to the web site Chris suggested from his first entry. You will need to create an account with Audiovox Customer Service and request the Pro9801XR install and owner manual. They will respond via email to you within 24 hours, you will need to log back into your Audiovox account you created and download them. They are in PDF format. I had purchased a new Pursuit PRO9801 and was not supplied with either manual, this must be normal.
