My remote on my alarm went out. I purchased a replacement remote(Viper 479V) I followed the instructions on the package to program but cannot seem to get it to work. I turn on the ignition press the valet button once and release, then press and hold, the alarm chirps like it suppose to then the LED blinks steady one blink at a time. I press a button on the remote , but get no response from the alarm. I also tried deleting all transmitters and then repeating steps above but cant seem to get that to work either.
any suggestions.
Thanks

I did think about that and checked it. everything seems normal. plus I never did anything that could affect it.
do the antennas tend to go out without notice?
I might have to check further.
thanks

sometimes they do, you may have to try a new antenna and harness to ensure if the current one is faulty or not.

ok. here is what I did. I went back to check the antenna. everything looked good but I disconnected and re connected the wire for the antenna. I did the same with the main power cable. I went back and did the programing and it accepted the remote. so now the remote works. however now my remote is using the same button for lock and unlock. and the truck release is not working nor is the remote start.
I know now that it is only a matter of how to program the remote correctly. can you help.
thanks

on the back of your package there are supposed to be directions as to the auto learn standard configuration to the systems they vary as some systems have remote start and some don't if there are no directions, then you can try different numbers, for example turn ignition on press valet three times and hold on the third press then wait for two chirps and then press your remote, switch off ignition wait about a minute or so and try the remote to see if any of the fuctions work accordingly, you can repeat this process increasing the number of times you depress your valet button as you go, the most you can go up to is nine i believe, one of the combinations are bound to work.
