remote starts

Ok guys, I was an installer for about 8 years for BB and CC together, any way I am very familiar with dei products, audiovox products, and then scytek products. I think the dei products are junk truthfully, its my opinion, but we had alot of problems with them. I like audiovox, and scytek is pretty cool too. What I was curious about is what should I pick between compustar scytek carvox dei audiovox Or is there a better remote start out there? I have been ruling out carvox it looks pretty cheap but what is you guys opinion? I am putting it in a 2000 toyota tundra, with windo modules, and a few sensors. Main thing is in Texas it gets hot I would like to set it to cool off at certain temps. For the timed start and temp settings do you have to be in range of it and these fm recievers do they really have 5 and 6 thousand feet range or is that meters since they are mostly made in china? Any help would be great I have been out of car audio since the big S and I layoff at CC 2 years ago. Burn CC burn!

All the units are made overseas now. My choice is Compustar with the CM5000 CPU, which is the 2WFM900 series. In Canada we get the longer range systems ( but not in the US because of the FCC regulations ) and has everything that you wanted as far as options listed. I have this system on my new Tundra Crewmax Ltd and I install this on alot of my customers vehicles without any negliable problems.Jeff

thankyou I have actually been looking at that one, forget the fcc I will use a long range one what they gonna do take my birthday away, lol. Yeah I was thinking that all are made in china now, I just never heard of carvox, and it looks like a make off of dei. I have a friend who does compustar at his shop and he love them. Thanks for the input.

I prefer DEI product. The over-all design of their system is pretty simple yet sophisticated. I believe their new improved unit(3rd generation) alarm/RS is at top-notch with all the features you will need. But then again, I install DEI and use much more than compustar or other brands. DEI's new remotes are pretty sleek and clean design, all use lithium-ion and/or rechargeable lithium-ion. The only thing that was disappointed me was the bad design of the circuit board on the 790xv and earlier gen of 791xv remote. ppl kept destroying these remotes. At least they change the design to improve it. Other than that, I have never experience any problem. This is what set one company from another, they are willing to improve their remote design. I dont expect any electronic companies out there to be perfect but if you can improve, that's a huge plus. I wish DEI will continue to do their R&D to stay above everyone else and not be like GM or Ford, bc they've been doing too much acquisition.Houston,TX

I'm with Velocity. Love the Compustar stuff, and if I had to choose, I would pick them....it's what I have on my own vehicle. Scytek also makes a good product....IMO, probably the easiest to install, and definately the easiest to program, and very reliable.

Forget meters, 6000meters would be about 4 miles!

Yes, it has the Blade insert for the cartridge bypass system. More features and supports the temp sensor for the 9000 series remote control.Jeff
