I have installed a Astroflex MV-801 remote control engine starter on my 1997 Silverado. My problem is when I use the remote start it puts on my check engine lite on and causes my transmission to go to limp mode. when I scan the vehicle for trouble codes , the codes are for shift solenoids A & B and for Torque Converter Clutch.
The only way that I can get the check engine lite to not come on , was to wire the accessories lead directly to the fan switch.
has anyone ever heard of this kind of problem before and what suggestions do you have.
Thanks Kevin

i did a surburban with a simular problem i found that i did not fire the ign in the proper sequence and i did not fire the second and third ign up that caused the check eng light. i guess you are lucky because i fried the transmission module and had go to the dealer for replacement. i was looking at the wire diagram and you have a second and a third ign that have to be fired up in order for all the computers to work. good luck
