Okay, I am very much a noob to electrical systems and more specifically to alarms.

I am installing the Hornet 740T and DEI 508D.

With regards to the hornet, I have run the red wire, constant power, to an ACC in the fusebox.  Grounded the module and siren together. LED and valet are both mounted and plugged in.  My rig is a 1990 Jeep wrangler (no power door locks...actually no doors period.  I have not yet wired the ignition input (yellow) from harness one, nor have I wired harness 3 (plug-in starter interrupt). When I connect harness one to the module, the alarm automatically trips, full trigger.

Will this change after wiring the ignition input and plug-in starter interrupt? Also, I havent run the wires for keyless entry or any of the zone 3 door triggers (again, no doors, no locks).   I found a wiring diagram for my Jeep and will finish up tomorrow.  My questions are:

1) Why is the alarm automatically triggering?

2) What do I do about zone 3 (I really don't need it, using this alarm mainly for the proximity sensor, but will not having zone 3 wired effect the system?

Any input is greatly appreciated...I am lost

The alarm should trigger when you apply power, that's normal. Just turn it off with the remote right after you plug the main harness in. You say you have the red wire connected to ACC in the fuse box, it needs to have constant power all the time. Normaly, you would connect the red and the yellow directly to the ignition harness for constant and ignition powers. If you have no doors, tape up the zone 3 wire don't use it.

I figured the disarm after powering up out, I have not yet wired to ignition which I'm not too worried about as I have an ignition kill switch. I wired the blue and green from 508d to multiplex on alarm, constant power and ground when armed. At first it worked but now I am sitting in my Jeep and the green and red leds light up but its not tripping the alarm anymore, and I have both zone sensitivities turned all the way up. Any ideas?
