When it comes to the door locks the 3 wires from the remote start connect to the 457gw.. But do they also have to connect physically to the door lock wires?

For a 2000 Suburban you do not need to use a bypass for door locks. Grab them instead at the kick panel, positive trigger.

It has been a really long time since I've used one of those things. Is your vehicle even listed as a compatible vehicle? The 457 was designed to operate door locks and bypass Passlock 2 via OBD2. Prior to 2003, all GM trucks used relays to drive door lock actuators. I am not 100% the 457GW will do what you what it to do for this model year. Anyone out there have a manual handy!! Personally if it were me, I would grab door locks like I stated above. You only need a module to bypass Passlock 2 during remote start.

so do I need use relays when i hook right up to the door lock connections? or can I just connect direct from remote start?

Also will I need to purchase another module to bypass the passlock?   or can I snip the wire like Ive heard people suggest?

I'm pretty sure the 457G isn't compatible with Suburban until 2003. It MIGHT work to bypass the Passlock during remote start; not sure.
The doorlock wires are at the BCM, which is the black control box directly underneath the steering column, with three plugs facing you.
(In that same plug you can also find your door triggers, factory alarm disarm, and parking lights. And just below the BCM is a metal bracket, which if you look underneath has two round holes in it....you could put your valet switch right there.)
Anyway, I think the white and blue doorlock wires are in the left plug of the three, and the two wires sit side-by-side.
No relays are required. The green (positive lock) and red (positive unlock) from the Audiovox can be connected directly to the wires in the car.

You can use the 457g for passlock. Just follow the manual. Do not connect any doorlock or door trigger wires between the 997 and 457g...they will not work.
