I am installing a CAN-SL2 module along with Viper 5601 in a 2006 Altima with factory alarm. There is an output that goes to the driver door pin and it apparently is to turn off the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) after R/S shutdown. I am hesitant to hook up the bypass output for "To Driver Door pin" because it seems this would cause a door trigger and set off the alarm, is this correct?
As a bonus question, why does the CAN-SL2 need the factory alarm LED ran through it? (It shows cutting the factory LED wire and hooking the BCM side to an input and the LED side to an output)

That first wire only pulses the driver's doorpin at remote start shutdown, to allow the automatic headlights to time out.
During remote start, the factory alarm is already disarmed. And the Viper alarm should be "smart" enough to also ignore door trigger at remote start shutdown, so you should be all set.
Also, during remote start, even though the CAN-SL2 will temporarily bypass the car's immobilizer key system and allow the car to start.....the car's BCM still tries to turn on the security light.
The CAN-SL2's two wires are to simply interrupt the security light during remote start, and after key takeover.
If you don't connect those wires to interrupt the LED, the LED will remain lit during your entire trip after remote start takeover.

Sweet, now it all makes sense.  Normally I would just hook it up as shown and not question why, but I've had that philosophy bite me in the butt a few times.

Thanks Chris, you're top notch.
