What is the best way to hook up a newly installed camper shell to existing alarm system?
I have a 2005 Tacoma with a dealer installed Karr 4040A alarm.
I think that I would probably have to put a grounding switch that would ground when the tailgate is open but where is this wire connected to the alarm brain?
Thanks.

Do you have a hood pinswitch installed?  Or any sensors, glass break, shock?   If so, either of those wires will be a good candidate.

Hook the switch up to the dark green wire on the main harness of the brain. It is neg. input.
