A buddy of mine had an older Viper 500-ESP model that he removed from one car and i installed it in his van.
I made the connections and double-checked them and all, but theres a few problems:
- Siren does not sound when i hit the lock/unlock button on the remote(s).
- Door trigger that i used was the BLACK/ white wire at the dimmer control and did not trigger the alarm at all.
- Starter Kill relay does not prevent car from starting (green key - black motor)!?!
What could i have possibly done wrong?!? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Problem siren doesn't sound

Suggestion- Assuming this isn't the back up battery siren with the keys that dei made some years ago, attach the siren's leads to the respective battery poles to ensue it works, and verify with a meter that the brain is outputting voltage. Let me know what you come up with.

Door trigger at the dimmer! Explain this a little further for me!

Problem-Starter kill doesn't prevent the car from starting

Have you verified you have the correct starter wire, should be BLACK/ white on that vehicle, green key side and black starter side is correct also, the yellow taps to a true igition feed, and the orange goes to the ground when armed, if you already have the yellow tapped to an ignition, you have to verify that the alarm is signalling the ground on the orange wire when you arm the system.

Start with the siren, it will make things alot easier for you!

Did you cut the starter wire or just tap into it?

Do you have an led for the system? If the led is on solid, the system is in valet mode.
