Hello, this is my first car-alarm/remote start and need help getting started.

First I will be installing a Autopage RS-900 alarm/remote start on a 2002 Chevy Suburban 1500. I have a idatalink ADS-DLSL GM interface/transponder bypass.

I need a wiring diagram for the vehicle and some help with the interface.

The idatalink installation instructions show only 2 connections to the vehicle ( to pin 2 of the OBDll and to (+) ignition input.). It then says to use either idatalink or standard wiring to the remote starter/alarm brain. Does this mean I only have to install 2 wires, hook-up the data bus connection and forget about the rest of the wiring. This does not seem to make sense.

I have installed car audio systems and have wire repair background, I am just unfamiliar with car alarms and remote starters. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Here is the wiring info for the vehicle. Working on the module right now...give me a few minutes.

Im assuming everything is done D2D(data 2 data) Those are probably the only wires that need hooked up w2w(wire 2 wire)...Im scrolling thru the manual now...And dont see anything like what your talking about...Did you already flash the unit to the proper firmware...? 2002 Suburban does NOT have databus-controlled doorlocks.

Any module you buy (from any manufacturer) is ONLY going to defeat the car's Passlock II anti-theft system during remote start.

You will still have to connect your doorlock wires, factory alarm disarm, parking lights, tachometer, and so forth.

The module you have is probably one of the costlier ways to interface with Passlock II, but it should work fine.

GM full sizes SUVs 2000-2002, and fullsize pickups 1999-2002, are pretty much all the same and have been covered here extensively.

Try using this site's search feature for the other vehicles.....Denali, Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade, Silverado, Sierra and so forth.......lots of info to be found here.
