Hi, I'm putting in a clifford 3.3 into my 03 mustang v6 and I have a few questions. This remote start has a starter in and out. I understand to cut the factory wire and put the remote start in in series. I want to wire a starter kill relay in, which needs to be in series. Should I put this on the key side or starter motor side of the remote start? My installation guide says to use the ground-when-armed (-) output. This seems pointless since I have to disarm the sytem to open the door to get in to perform key takeover. Is this right? I Also want to hook up the 2nd unlock feature. Splicing the lock wire is no trouble, but both wires from both actuators go to the GEM (body module). None of the 4 wires can be (+) or (-) at all times, because they reverse polarity depending on the input wires, which go straight to the switches, which unlock both doors. (I'm using Ford's wiring diagrams). Any suggestions? I can live without the feature. Trunk instant trigger input is just the trunk pin?

Your unit has a "built in" starter kill/anti grind, no need to add another relay.

You're obviously not reading the units instructions, also read on this site vehicle wiring and follow it not the manufacturer's, you will probably be better off with going to the control box for the locks because extending the time will close the windows I believe. Lastly yes its a trigger for when the trunk is opened, also look at DEI 1076 diagramme on this site ref your door contacts, also if I remember the OEM hood switch sits on neg when shut and goes open circuit when open. I THINK the Clifford has a way around this, once again, RTFM.

Hi, thanks for the input, much appreciated. I'm using way more than Ford's info, by the way. The instructions say starter kill is programmed on by default and to use the GWA. The notes for the GWA says nothing about starter kill and it ceases when disarmed. I'll leave it until I get it working. If it doesn't function, I'll test the GWA output and wire a relay on the starter side if needed. Hood switch programmable to be NO or NC.

I've been using Clifford products for the past 6 years. The previous posts are definitely right about the built in starter kil/anti-grind. The only use for the Orange (-) GWA is if you also wanted to add a motion sensor or a fuel line interupt. Other than those 2 things, I cut the Orange short at the brain and cap it in case of adding the extras later.
