how do you eliminate the radio playing until the door opens in a Ford,Lincoln, Mercury. When noted for a door trigger most places ask for a domelight which i cant use. I dont see a door trigger in the door the i can use like most foreign cars. What can i do????

In particular im working with a 2004 mercury mountaineer, 2002 lincoln continental, and a 1999 lincoln town car

A lot of Fords use a + (or -) door switch that is integrated in to the striker plate in the door itself (as opposed to a pin switch in the jamb).

There should still be a signal, you may just have to find it the hard way.

Sorry for not being able to provide specific info, but maybe this will help you a bit.

Test it.... sit in the pass side and shut the key off and open the door... I'll bet it works!
