So fare i have paid 700.00 just for the install 500.00 one shop 200.00 a other shop and i still have trouble...any help would be great first
i have 2001 jimmy 2dr 4x4 sls alarm i have viper 5901 with remote start
508d sensor ,516L voice module ,507m tilt senor..the problem no one can get is...
1 The remote start message is coming on after the truck starts ..not a big deal but would be nice to fix ...
2 the 508d sensor with not give out the warn away message..also when i use the remote start some time the alarm goes off also when i use the remote start and then unlock the truck get in add the key for take over turn the key hit the brake ...all work good all messages are right , but i get a voice message saying inturder hood or trunk access ...and that what the 508d is hook too! ...if any one know what color the wires are to hook up i will try to do it myself! Viper told me this..But my installer told me i could not get the warn away message as i was missing a wire or something!
The warn away message is supposed to be automatically generated when a signal is received on the 516L input wires. They are multiplex wires which means they can tell the different between a warn away signal and a full trigger signal. He needs to make sure he is taking the green and blue from each sensor to the inputs on the 516L.

Any chance you can do without the 516L?  I think the warn away chirps are enough to discourage most people. If you are not getting warn away messages..chances are the 508d is not connected correctly.  If your alarm is going off upon remotes start, they probably did not place a blocking diode on the blue- wire that may be connected to sensors..the remote start sometimes requires a neg output during activation, and if it is connected to the blue sensor wire..it will trip your sensors.  Sounds like you got ripped off with a crappy install. I would take it back and make them get it right.

I would also download the manual under downloads and search 516L. There might be something in there you can read up on and change your programming...trace the wiring and make sure it is connected right.
