Good morning, I have 1982 Ford Fairmont Futura. I have installed a Viper 5002. I keep seeing mention of the Fail Safe Starter Kill Relay, and it is needed for Automatic Engine Disable and Vehicle Recovery System. The manual states Fail Safe Starter circuitry ready. Is this an addtional relay that must be installed? I also noted that the orange GWA wire goes to the Starter Kill Relay. Also the immobilzer harness where does enter in to all fo this?  My next concern would be the tilt sensor, 507m hooked up following  instruction and it does work, but it is signalling that the trunk triggered the alarm. Should I wire it so that it can be plugged in directly to the alarm module? Thanks, sorry for the different text don't know what happened fail safe starter kill and tilt sensor -- posted image.there. masterGone

I don't know what happened there either, lol,! On to the business then! There should be a three wire harness with heavy gauge wires a GREEN / WHITE, a GREEN/ black, and green, this is your starter ready circuitry, i advise on wiring it for normally open so in the event your alarm's brain were to be removed by a would be thief, it renders the car immobilised. Here,s how you do it, find the vehicle's starter wire, cut it in half, connect the GREEN / WHITE to the key side and the green to the engine side. The rest, AED, VRS are just programming features once you do this, also you would have to program the immobiliser type to normally open!

Oh and use the original plug that came with the 507, it's just plug n play!

Thanks for the info. I tried your suggestions, either I have cut the wrong wire or the relay is bad. If I wire it n/c it still will start after the count down has elapsed , if I wire n/o I will not start at all. The 507M did not have a connector on it, just three wires red, orange, and blue no connector. I did have an old connector that I used to connect the 507M to the brain. It does trip the alarm, but the remote does not show the tilt indicator.

when you wire it for normally open you have to program the immobiliser type to n/o as well, also i've never seen a bad on board relay on one of these units, do you have the yellow wire connected to a true ignition source? If not, this could result in your start while it's armed!

Thanks again t&t for help. I checked for true ignition and I have it. Don't know what the problem is. It still does everything else and makes more than enough noise for me. As long as it protects what is in it, I'm happy.

Thanks  masterGone

Actually, an alarm never protects the contents of a vehicle, it's real purpose is to alert you that your vehicle is being tampered with, and to prevent it from being hotwired and driven off, it never will prevent the thief from removing the contents ! Cheers, glad to help as always!
