A while ago I purchased a Viper 5701 and XK531 to install in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Now I'm just getting back to it and actually want to get it installed soon, now that it is getting colder outside.

I have found a lot of information on this website that I have saved, about the '02 Jeep GC and have found some information on the 5701, but none a perfect match to my setup. I was just curious if there is anyone out there that has done a '99-'04 Jeep Grand Cherokee and installed a Viper 5701 with the XK531 module? Ideally looking for a wiring diagram of the setup. I do have a couple of specific questions, but first figured I'd like to find a match to my config, if  possible.

Thanks,

Tom

Just dive in, the XK531 will do everything that you need for remote start and security. The only catch is the programming for the Sentry key.

Thanks, I think I have the Sentry key programming figured out; it doesn't seem like a big deal?

I was planning to use the D2D hookup from the XK531 as that seems to take care of a bunch of things right there, but haven't been able to find a D2D cable. But I also see a lot of people going W2W. Is the D2D problematic?

Thanks,

Tom

You may want to contact bypasskit.com for the D2D wire. I know iDatalink now has the DEI D2D wire available.
