clifford rsx3.5 two way signal disruption

Clifford RSX 3.5 two way My car been sitting about 6mths and the alarm was working fine and all of a sudden my car isn't picking up any signal from the alarm remote. Meaning when i hit the unlock button (or any button) the car doesn't registering the signal from the remote. The remote alerts me that it cant find a signal. I will listen out. Thanks Steve

Flat battery on car or remote?

My situation is somewhat similar. I have a Clifford Matrix RS III in an 01 CRV. The transmitter can send out commands to the module, lock - unlock - remote start - pop trunk. But the transmitter does not receive the confirmation beeps and the appropriate icons. This started happening after the car had a valve adjustment and window tints applied. They had to jump my car because the tinting guys had the doors open and kept rolling the windows up and down. Is there something on the car end that I need to pay attention too?Tony G

I actually encountered this identical issue this past Sunday (Jan 10)! Fortunately, a member of another forum gave me this tip, and it fixed my issue: Disconnect the car battery for 5 seconds (to reset the alarm device). (FWIW, I actually disconnected the battery for five MINUTES because I incorrectly recalled his tip.) Hope this helps!

Thank you!!! Did you just disconnect the Negative terminal or both Neg and Pos terminals from the battery?

I only disconnected the negative terminal from the car battery. In case you're curious, here's more info: The guy who gave me the advice said that ideally, I should just disconnect the inline fuse for the "brain" of my car alarm for 5 secs. However, if this wasn't possible, then I could disconnect my car battery for 5 secs. Well, I'm clueless about car alarms. It was pretty miraculous that I actually did find the brain, but I still wasn't able to find the inline fuse he was talking about. So, I just went with the car battery. Good luck!

Well, I disconnected the Neg for 5-6 seconds. When I reconnected, a slight spark came when reattaching the cable and the terminal. Now the CRV is not responding to any commands as if the transmitter is truly broken or it needs to be reprogrammed to the module. Can you give me any suggestions? Do I need to located the module and disconnect the fuse since the battery route did not work for me? I truly appreciate any help you can give! TonyTony G

Oh man, sorry to hear about that. The good news is that the spark is normal. It happens every time I disconnect and reconnect the negative, too. I take it that you've never had to jump start a car before! Heh heh, consider yourself lucky. Anyway, if I were you, I'd try doing disconnecting/reconnecting the battery one more time...just to see if that helps. If that still doesn't fix it, try it a third time, but this time, maybe wait 5 mins (instead of 5 secs). If that still doesn't work, then definitely look for the fuse. Who knows--it may have blown. If so, just replace it. I don't think you should have to reprogram the transmitter just because the brain lost power. However, hopefully some of the experienced car alarm installers can chime in.
