Have an easy question to all you pro's. Been installing remote starters/alarms for 7 years however never installed a idatalink module before. Everything seems pretty straight foward. Seems power is being pulled from the remote start brain as no connection to 12v + is made to the car. I don't see a Connection to the car's STARTER wire listed in the manual. Is this supposed to be made to the car using the remote starters starter output wire or is the idatalink controlling the cars ECU to start the vehicle?

Also Anyone know the door trigger color code to a 09 chevy malibu and location?

Any help qould be greatly appreciated.

Greg

Is the module being used on the 09 Malibu? What is the model # of the module you are using?

yes this will be installed on a 09 malibu

Idatalink ADS-AL(DL)-GM2

Reason for my door pin color is just in case this car needs the RAP wire connected for radio shutoff after start( not sure if car has this feature)

I'm sure this will be an easy piece to install just not having done 1 yet just want to have all my questions answered before install.

Thank you.

But to my main question i don't see a connection of the starter to the Idatalink module. Also in the idatalink module manual it say 12v, ign and acc must be connected to the car but says nothing regarding the Starter wire connection.. Am i missing something here. This wire must be connected...right???  no connection from remote start starter output wire to idatalink or the car??? not making sense here. Also this install will be a hardwire idatalink install not RS232 cable install..

many newer GM vehicles don't have a conventional starter wire... the vehicle cranks when it sees ACC drop out......

Yep, no starter wire needed. The Idata unit will take care of it all.
