Hello

I am in the middle of instaling a Compustar 2W8000FMASF in my 1991 Nissan 300ZX. It is a right hand drive Japanese Import. I have everything besides the command start working. It is a 5spd transmission so i set the reservation mode as described. When I go to start it the siren chirps 3 times and the parking lights flash 3 times then pause then flash once. According to the manual this means that it is sensing the engine being on. I have my tach wire hooked up to yellow/red wire at the ECU. I dont know what else could contribute to this problem.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Did you program the tach wire after you hooked up to it?

I got yellow/red aswell, but this one is located in the engine compartment in a 1 pin plug sort of near the fusepanel

just as a side note did you hook up both starter wires?

I decided to splice into the yellow/red at the ECU after finding an istall guide for a shift light which indicated using the wire at the ECU. Also I could not find the yellow/red wire under the hood.

I was unaware that I had to program the tach wire after it was hooked up. How do I go about doing this?

Also according to the info that I got off of the 12 volt's database I have 2 ignition wires. So right now I have the blue wire from the second relay spliced into the BLACK / YELLOW wire with the purple pigtail wire coming off the second relay spliced into the 2nd ignition output from the alarm. What do I change in order to hook up a second starter wire?

Thanks for the help

as I see it you have 1 ign, 1 acc, and 2 starter wires to hook up

green off the main harness to ign 1

white off the main harness to acc 1

yellow of the main harness to starter 1

now for the second starter you will use the relay with the purple and blue wires coming from it, the blue wire will go to starter 2 and the purple wire will go to RED / black (i believe this is the right color) wire labeled negative starter

was there a install maunual in the box, this will show you how to program tach

I believe you have to start the car, let it idle down, press and hold the brake pedal and remote start it with the remote (you need to check on this)

Alright I will switch the wire that i have hooked up to the second relay from the second ignition wire to the second starter wire.

No instal manual came with the remote start, so I will try what you suggested. when you say let it idle down do you mean just to normal idle then hold brake and remote start. or do i have to turn the engine off, hold the brake and remote start?

Thanks again for the help.

Hey

I tried the process you recomended for programing the tach wire and it worked.

My command start now functions. My car is currently in a heated garage. could that be why it started even without the proper 2nd starter wire hooked up?

Thanks alot for the help.

the second start wire in the nissans is a cold start wire, so yes that could be what you were experiencing
