Hello folks..

I have done a few Clifford installs now and think I know my way round them, just have gotten stumped at this last one I have done and need some pointers from someone in the know..lol

I installed a concept 650 with intellistart and smartwindows to my celica and that works fine, never had any issues,

I installed a concept 450 with intellistart and smartwindows to my honda and that works fine too,

now I installed a clifford solaris and intellistart to a mates celica, using the exact same wiring points as my celica. alarm works spot on and initally after the install the intellistart worked fine too, but then it started being funny,

initially it wouldn't crank the car quite long enough for it to start, so I got the old laptop out and tried reprogramming the rpms, and setting a slightly longer ranking time, only problem now is it won't activate remote start at all,

I can press the clifford button twice then the ** button and the hazard lights blink once, and if I do it while I have the laptop plugged in on teh monitor page it says ENGINE BELOW IDLE,

and just refuses to activate remote start, I have tried reprogramming rpms, and it says pass every time, rpms and idle seems fine, but it just reefuses to activate the starter,

I can start the car by going into setting and pulsing the starter , also if I chage the wiring to automatic transmission mode the car will remote start but immedietly shuts down,

personally I rather leave it in manual mode as it is safest but it just won't play ball,

I have also tried programming rpms usint the valet switches and as per instructions the hazards blink twice but alarm still wont activate remote start..

help please I am at wits end, why did it work for about a week and now just refuses to do so,

You've made a real beginer's mistake..if it's a Solaris G5, ONLY use the Wiz to alter the crank time. Then MANUALLY programme tach. The Wiz software has a major fault in that  a) Wiz programming can take up to 60 attempts to store data in the starter section.  b)It glitches everything else up especially dumping your tach settings. Also it can knock out your remotes, turn normal arming into passive etc. etc. I would never let an amateur touch a Wiz system.  Effectively, go back and manually programme tach.

thanx fella, I knew someone would point me in right direction, When I finished installing and used the Wiz to program it the 1st time, all was well and it worked flawlessly, juts few days later it stopped, whenever you would try remote start it would crank for a brief second and shut down and then keep trying for 3 or 4 goes, made my mate cack himself the 1st time it did it,

so is there anyway of resetting the unit to default and then reprogramming the tach using the installer grid or do I just try it as it is, also when I get it into installer modes and in the aproprate parameter, do I need to press anything or just let it learn idle itself.

should that sort the problem or will I have to do anything else, all wires  have soldered and connections were done exactly as In my celica so I know everything works and it has done before..lol

Does this mean you don't have an install manual? If so you'd better pm me with your email address and let me know if it's a Solaris iV (with built in intellistart, has Brown indicator wires) or two unit Solaris V with white indicator wires.

I have the installers manual mate, I was just looking for re asurance,

the solaris 5 I have fitted is 2 modules and the indicator wires are white, all the systems I have fit in the past I have programmed with my old g4 wiz software, did not know I should not have used it with the solaris,

I did read somewher that the old g4 range were well built but the g5 can be funny sometimes, thats why I went and got a g4 450 for my honda.
