Hey guy , I am doing a pretty basic alarm install and I am having some issues with the remote start. I am using a Viper 5902 paired with a Canmax 400 that was flashed to the Honda4 firmware by a local shop. I got everything hooked up and running well and the light on the canmax lights up red. The problem is that when i go to program the unit, I insert the key and turn it to the on position , the red light does not turn green.
The wiring is very simple for D2D so I am confident I have everything wired correctly. My lock / unlock / trunk open / hood trigger / ignition trigger / and even my brake trigger work perfectly. When I go to remote start the car, it cranks but it does not turn on....however if i insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position, then try to remote start, the car will remote start with no problem.
I have a feeling that my local shop did not flash the canmax400 to the correct firmware for me as they said they did, would everything other then the remote start be working fine if the firmware was incorrect?

I have one more question, The alarm only has one orange wire for accessory and my car has two accessory wires. I think I remember reading that a relay had to be used to hook up the other accessory wire.. is this correct?

Two options for your accessories depending on your point of view.
1. (This is the way I do them)
One of those accessory wires in the car comes on only in the Run position---that's for the climate controls; connect your orange wire there.
The other wire comes on in Acc AND Run---that's for the radio and other non-essential items. I hate to have the radio come on during remote start. Just don't connect anything at all to this wire, and all will be fine. The radio will come on after you do key takeover.
Option 2.
Your car only has one ignition wire.
You should be able to use the Viper's pink/white Ignition 2 output, just connect it to the car's second-accessory wire.
Somewhere in the programming menu you should be able to reprogram the Ignition 2 output......look for something written like "As Accessory" or maybe "Off During Crank." Not sure what terminlogy DEI is using, but it should be something like that.
