I installed a Viper 5901 into a 2004 F150 yesterday. All went fine, it tested fine in the shop, etc. Got a call last night that it won't remote start without the alarm going off. Went out to the customer location today to check it out. It starts it routine to remote start just fine but as soon as it almost done cranking the alarm goes off and gives a "door open" on the remote. Upon troubleshooting it gets weird. It has 4 doors - 1, 2, 3, 4. All diode isolated, - trigger, all wired to the unit. Disconnect any 3 and leave 1, it'll work just fine. Hook up any other door and it acts up. I removed the diode to see if those were causing some issue - nope, still does it. If I disarm the alarm before remote starting it starts right up. I'm thinking about installing a relay to disconnect the door triggers while remote starting but it defeats the alarm. Any ideas?

Why didn't you use the + BLACK/ blue trigger in the passenger kick? That one will do all doors.

That wire is for dome light and it has a delay in it.

There is a  delay off on the domelight.  It comes on instantly.  Most quality alarms understand the delay off and will take care of it when the light goes off.

This won't interfere with the dome light supervision I have hooked up? Humm... I've always been taught not to use a dome light wire that has delay on it and use the actual door triggers. What feature do I turn off on the 5901 to get it not to beep if a door is open when arming? Thanks.

I am not familiar with that alarm.  Even if you do not change it, if you arm it before the lamp goes out, it will probably chirp 3 times and when the lamp goes out, it will give you the 1 chirp.   The older alarms would just disregard the zone if the lamp was on.  Newer ones will monitor that zone and engage it when the lamp goes out.  Years ago, you could not safely use that wire if there was a delay.  The delay has become so popular, they have changed the alarms to accommodate the feature.

program the door trigger error chirp off if you wanna use the dome light
as for diode isolating the door trigers, did you do it correctly using 8 diodes?

Mr idiot, only audiovox systems chirp, three times and then once to indicate it is monitoring with delay active!

DEI products do not do this however!
