hey all, please please help if you can.

I had an Autopage RS730 remote start installed on my 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring.

Everything works great, I've even learned how to program it and all.

Here is the only problem:

My audio/dvd player/navigation system doesn't turn on with the remote start system.  So, I click the remote to start the car.  When I get inside...no audio/dvd/navigation is working.  But, once I get in the minivan and turn the key to position 2 or on, the radio/dvd player and navigation system all turn on.

The heater/ac system all turn on.  The power sliding doors work (with factory remote)...car locks/unlocks, etc.

Any ideas?  Did the installer not do something right?  Bad unit?  Anything I can do to troubleshoot/fix this?

thanks!

You most likely missed an accessory wire, possibly an ignition wire. What all did you hook up in the ignition harness?

This vehicle has 2 ignition wires and 2 accessory wires.  i am betting that they only connected the acc 1 wire.

oh man, that's probably it.  I'm going to give this to the installer...they seemed to think it wasn't possible to fix.

would this be at the starter box?  would it be simple enough for me to open the starter box, and connect the wire??  meaning...is the RED / white (accesory 2 wire) somewhere in there that I could just take and attach??

Thank you everybody for the Christmas gift to me in the form of responses!!!!

thanks!

It's up to you, but I think they did it the best way. I only power up the radio during remote start if it's absolutely necessary.
I see two reasons for this:
1. If you park the car with the radio on, and then remote start it at some very late or very early hour, do you want the radio disturbing your neighbors?
2. If you park the car with the CD player on, and then remote start it, when you get back into the car to drive away, you've now "missed" about two or three songs from your CD.
I've done every Honda I've ever done this same way---literally hundreds and hundreds of them. Nothing will break or give you problems.
Like the others said, if it's something you want, it should be just a simple matter of connecting the remote starter to the car's second-accessory wire.
They either connected the ignition wires inside the steering column, or at the fuse box by your left foot. Taking the column apart on those vans sucks. The fuse box location isn't too bad.
Depending on the remote starter, it most likely does have an output for the second accessory, and hopefully, maybe, the installer ran that wire right along with the other ignition/accessory/starter wires....with some luck, maybe it just has to be connected.
If you're handy with electrical stuff, have the necessary tools, have electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter, you might be able to do it yourself.
However, if you do this, and anything goes wrong, as soon as the installer sees you were in there messing around he might not want to warranty anything anymore, whether it was your fault or not. Probably best to let them do it.
