I have a 5900 SST that I have had some problems with. I accidently slammed the remote in my tailgate and am in need of a replacement. I have found whole new 5901/5902 alarms for about the price of me buying a new LCD remote and one of the regular remotes for backup.
I was debating just swapping to the newer alarm. I did not do the original install but I have been working in automotive repair for years and have some wiring experience. I've always done my car audio stuff.
I am hoping I can take the existing modules and etc and just plug everything in to the newer 5901/5902 alarm module.

no, this will not work, if you want to go with the 5901 or 5902 you will need to remove and replace

So none of the old parts will work? The door lock interface, key interface, glass break sensor, etc?

Yes some parts will work, but of course it will involve dissconnecting and re-connecting to the new sysytem, i think 05gt was saying that it isn't easy as just plug n play as you said, it's a tottaly different system altogether!

yah I didn't make my post as clear as possible, like T&T said some parts will work, but the connectors will not plug into the new brain that were on the 5900, the antenna is different and so on, so it is not plug and play
