Year, Make and Model of vehicle would help a ton. One bypass may work perfectly on one vehicle, and may have problems on another, so without knowing this info, it's hard to say. We may also be able to recommend other bypass units that we have experience with. I use only idatalink stuff now, but have not used that module.

Ok...now we're on the same page. I have not used the optional ring for any installs yet. I have only used the type 3 install with this module on Chevy/Gmc, and I have not had any comebacks. I assume you are using type 2 because of the lower current draw? Even if you are using the type 2, it should be pretty much straigh forward. If you have a problem, call Idatalink. Those guys are awesome, and offer some of the best tech support in the industry.
