1989 buick riviera

Hello I dont know if this has been posted before I did do a search of the forums before posing this. I did a remote start on a 1989 riviera and everything seemed fine. About 10 days later the customer complained about a dead battery. I had a friend or mine tell me there were problems with the lock outputs on the code systems. I switched to an Ultra Start for the replacement. I also helped the customer warranty the battery to eliminate that from the equation. He called me 2 days ago and said that the battery was dead again. I did check voltage and it seemed fine. I had also removed the older unit for a few days and the battery stayed charged. That is when I replaced it with the ultra. I used audiovox tech services and then also checked the tech notes here to confirm. I just had a friend send me the directechs info and it shows single ignition and single accy. but directechs shows 2 or each. Could this be stopping the alternator from charging when remote started because they are not hooked up. Thanks in advance for any help. Dan

This is only happening randomly and there is no pattern to the dead battery...?  how long after the 2nd remote start was installed did the battery go dead...? Tell him that you are going to just unplug the antenna but unplug the whole unit and see if he complains of a dead battery...Im going to bet that he calls you again complaining of a dead battery...!M.E.C.P & First-Class

I figured out the problem it was an accy.  wire the color was PURPLE / white had to be connected. The alternaor was not turning on until this was hooked up. The car was running on the reserve capacity of the battery. He would start it every 2 days and the unit would run for 10 minutes. It makes perfect  sense now. Thanks everyone. I know there are not many of these on the road but check voltage after the install is complete. Thanks again
