Need help with a Python 872 LE!!!
I installed the alarm in a 2005 Chevy Suburban, used a Xpresskit DLPKGM, connected with a D2D. Programed the bypass alarm seems to be working fine, alarm sets, doors lock, lights flash. But the remote start won't work. I've connected all the wires per schematics. but when I push remote to start it. I get a red error light and control module clicks like a turn signal 7 times. (I don't know if that is a code or not).
It seems like it's erroring out because of a tripped safety circuit.
I've disconnected the hood pin & the brake pedal wire, same results.
checked voltage at plug (purple & Green) during remote start, no power at plug/wires.
I've gone thru everything I can think of. HELP!

sound like it might be the parking light relay trying to tell you the manual sequence is not set up. if an automatic reprogram it for that might be in manual mode
parking lights
5 flashes - Brake wire is active
6 flashes - Hoodpin wire is active
7 flashes - Manual transmission mode is enabled and not initialized.
8 flashes - Neutral safety wire has no ground or the neutral safety is Off.

That sounds like it could be it!
Do you know the sequence to reprogram it to automatic mode?
Thanks

Found it in the manual, did the programing and that was the problem!
After all of the work, I completely forgot about programing the alarm...Duh!
Thanks for your help Monty_77!

Well, I thought I had this thing finished.

The start relays all work, the engine cranks, but it doesn't start. It will crank, stop, click once, then crank again. I disconnected the brake pedal to see if that was it, but it only flashes once not 5 or 6 times as if a trigger was activated.

I'm going to try and increase crank time to see if that does it, but I'm not sure if this is the problem. My concern is that I don't have the H3-PINK/BLK wire attached to anything (87a) and I'm not getting correct power to the ignition to start the engine. Also I'm unsure on the H3-PINK/WHT it is connected to the White wire coming from the Igntion harness, and goes to the fuse block by the drivers door, I'm not convinced that that is the correct wire.

Any thoughts?

OK, it's confirmed it's not the cranking time. I set it to 1.2 secs with the same results.

Then just to test my other theory, I turn the key to the on position and pressed the start button on the remote, car started right up.

So it's a wiring issue not a timing issue.  Again help!

did you try and turn the key off after remote starting it to see if it would take over if it does. then the bypass might not be programed right.
if you still think its wiring after that send me an email and i will send you pics of the wires for that vehicle weld-rite@daktel.com

Hey thanks for your help on this,
I just went out and tried the key on, remote start, turned key off and removed key & it kept running.
even killed via the brake pedal (even though the wire is not connected, I assume it did it thru the data port)

So does that mean it's the bypass unit?
It's a Xpresskit DLPKGM, firmware I believe was ver. 2.1. It seemed to program with no issues I followed all the steps and got the rapid flash at the end of the programing.

So what's my next step?
Reprogram the DLPKGM unit?
Is there a restore to factory I need to do first?

here is a link to your bypass installation instructions for the specific vehicle. link to pdf
it shows how to program it for the vehicle. as for resetting it i think all you have to do is unplug all harnesses and follow the instructions again

Thanks, that is different than the instructions I had.

Mine didn't list steps 9 thru 11, I bet that will take care if it!

Now I have to decide if I want to do it tonight or wait until tomorrow evening. It's suposed to snow tonight and it would be nice to have a nice warm car for a change.

I'll post back after I get it done - Thanks!
