Hey guys, got a problem I'm hoping someone else might have some more insight on. I was working on a 2004 grand marquis and it seemed to keep having issue after issue with the parts necessary for the install. Anyways, after everything was squared away, I had about an hour and a half to do the install. I rushed a little bit and made a stupid mistake in doing so. As I stripped a 12v constant, my strippers bumped some metal and grounded out. I ended up blowing a 50a fuse under the hood. I had an extra of this type, popped it in, made sure the car started, and finished the install.
Now here's my issue. When I start the car with the key, the blower motor does not work. However, when I remote start, it works fine. I checked under the hood and the relay for the blower seems to function fine. I can't figure out why it only works while remote started. This is brand new terriroty to me in terms of trying to diagnose a problem like this and any and all help is appreciated. Tia.

Checked all fuses, and also replaced them just to be sure it wasn't a bad "good" fuse, ya know. The fact that it works when remote started, but dies when the remote starter is off, just has me clueless right now...

blower motors are on the passenger side. check the passenger fuse box and see if you blew a fuse there.

If it works when the vehicle is remote started, it has to be a bad connection or an open in the ignition switch or the wiring between the ignition switch and the point where you tapped in for the remote start.

i agree with the last reply here, if it works with the remote start then u have good current going from where u plugged your 12volt feed from the remote start to the blower, appears possible bad ignition switch or so. since your blower will get its feed from the ignition switch. when checking just start the car normally with out the remote start and see if you have power at the blower accessory wire??

Thanks for the suggestions and help guys, I really appreciate it. The issue ended up being another 50a fuse right next to the one I originally blew. It wasn't blown, but looked a little burned. I replaced it and it worked right away. The remote starter wiring must have been tapped in after this fuse.
I'm just glad the car is gone lol. From now on it's time to tape up the car/my strippers if there's even a chance of touching. Def. don't want to go through this again.
