I got my alarm installed professionally since i dont have the time anymore to do it myself (also since its freezing here, and i dont have a heated garage) I got a Compustar FT6000AS installed in my 2010 ford f150.  It seems that everything is working perfectly, except one thing. The Passive arming. When i try to activate passive arming (buttons 2+3 fo .5 secs) the remote reads "FAIL" where the time is normally stated. I called the installer, and at first he didnt know why this was doing it, and said, he has to connect to the brain and diagnose. Now this will be the third time i have to bring my car back. He also said that he talked to firsttech and they said that this was a setting that he had to set. Is this true? I would like to know the real answer before I have to drive another 50mins each way to "try" something that might not even be the case.

Option 1-08 setting two i thought just allows the alarm to passively arm AND NOT passively lock.  I want the system to do both. lock and arm, and thatwhen the remote is saying FAIL. I didnt think it was a feature the installer has to turn on.

We are compustar dealers and there are 3 settings...off, passive arming with locking, and passive arming without locking. That needs to be on, thats why it gives you the fail message.
