installing an ultra start 3255 on an 07 pontiac G6 with the fortin can-sl2. the bypass kit programs successfully according to the instructions but will not remote start, the starter tries to but apparently the bypass isnt set up correctly. this is my first install on a gm vehicle with not starter wire to hook up. the can-sl2 has an accessory output that shows to hook up to the car, the ultra start also has an accessory wire to hook up to the car. i have tried with just the can-sl2 wire hooked up and also with both wires hooked up, same result. i am thinking it is something obvious, any help is appreciated. thanks.

the accy connection on the can-sl2 is an input..so go ahead and connect it to the accy wire at the ign harness.when programming did you start the car when the led started flashing?

Right now i have the accy of the can-sl2 hooked up to the accy wire at the ignition harness. the ignition wire from the remote starter is not hooked up at all. I have also tried with a jumper wire so the can-slt accy and the remote start accy are hooked up to the ignition accy. Both ways end with the same result. the can-sl2 will program, i do not start the car, turn the key to ignition, the led goes out, turn the key off. try to remote start, it tries, then fails. if i put the key in and turn to ignition (not start) at just the right time, it will remote start.

start the car with the key when the led starts flashing, that is what you have to do for gm cars.also hook up the accy wire from the remote start to the accy (brown)wire at the ign harness.

you need to wire the acc and ignition wires from the remote start to the wires at the ignition barrel. also make sure the red and white wire is interrupted during remote start.

i hope you did not try programming it more than 5 times. if you do the unit will go into tamper mode and will lock out, that means you will need to get a new can-sl2

well, still no luck. I have connected as described and reprogrammed by starting the vehicle, nothing has changed. This is the 4th program of the can-sl2 so i am close to the limit. It does try to start as in, it acts like the key when it turns to ignition, but then cuts out, definitely seems like a bypass issue. I do have a relay hooked up between the RED / white wire on the transponder connector (there is also a RED / white wire on the iginition connector, but I havent touched that one) I did try starting it with the RED / white wire disconnected completely from and still got the same result. Really at a loss now.

dont program the bypass anymore. it is programmed correctly already. a bypass is able to program correctly but its faulty wiring that will not allow it to start.

disconnect power and connectiosn to the can sl2, place a key into the ignition and try to remote start. if it starts its bypass issues, if it doesnt, you are missing acc or ignition wires.
