Hi folks,
I am trying to locate a manual for an MV-801 from Astroflex. My uncle is a car dealer that repo'd a jeep and this alarm has been installed into it. The customer (wized off of course) decided to keep the alarm remote and the unit is armed. He asked me to figure out why he can't start it with the key after he removed the brain. I'm assuming it has starter disable but I want to see the manual to make it easier before I drive to his town to make the jeep usable. I searched here and found the 800 model. Does anyone know if the wiring is much different from the 800 to the 801? Also if so does anyone have the 801 that they count email or upload here as a .pdf?
Thanks, Steve

Went to look under the dash of this 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee and determined that the Astrostart brain isn't causing the issue but rather the factory alarm. Tried to disarm using the key in either door and the rear hatch and nothing turns it off. It is not starter kill but rather fuel that is not enabling due to the alarm. Is it possible that the disarm wire was cut completely and can only be controlled via the astrostart?

first thing i would check it the starter wire the anti-grind feature or the antitheft devices might of been hooked up
and unplugging the main harness will break the starter wire to test just jump the dark blue wire of the astrostart harness with the lt blue and then try it

Hi. It starts fine with the key but cuts out after a few seconds because the factory alarm is cutting the fuel. The Astrostart is unplugged. The real issue is that the factory alarm is not disarming from any door cylinder. I'm thinking they cut the original purple / YELLOW disarm wire and hooked it to the disarm output of the Astrostart brain. I'll have to get into the kick panel next week and see if I can locate the issue.
