I just bought a 2007 Ford Edge.
I've found a cluster of wiring in the driver kick panel but can't trace where they go. I believe it is for an aftermarket alarm or remote start. Needing to know what aftermarket companies use the following wire colors and what it might be.
Black w/ Yellow stripe. Has fusible link. Looped around so fuse is reachable.
Black w/ Red stripe. Has fusible link.
Black w/ Green stripe. Two wires going through the firewall.
Black. Ground to dash frame.
Looks like two wires t-spliced into the horn and power door lock.
The wiring goes way up in the dash. I didn't want to tear it all out if someone might have an idea of what it is or which companies use these wire colors.

This is only a guess, but I wonder if you might have an aftermarket mirror with compass and outside temperature.
If you do have a mirror with these features, see if the two BLACK/ green wires are maybe running to a temperature sensor mounted behind the grille.

I had thought about the rearview mirror. It has the standard(no bells and whistles) mirror in it currently. It could have been swapped at one time. I will look tonight and see if I can find a Temp. sensor up front. I believe the factory wires should already be run to it, minus the temperature wire.
Thanks Chris.

Those colours aren't compatible with ANY alarm I can think of.

Can you tell what/where the wires are going to through the firewall...So is this just a connector...? I also am not familiar with the colors...If thats all the wires...I can't see it being an alarm/remote start...Was thinking trailer hitch wiring(door lock wouldn't make sense)...Maybe GPS/tracking...? Dunno... It defitnely looks aftermarket...?

Here's an installation guide for a rearview mirror with compass:
http://www.cipausa.com/Autodim%20Files/36000,%2036100,%2036101,%2036200,%2036201,%2036300,%2036301%20Instructions.pdf
(It only has ground and switched power. The auto dimming mirror will also connect to the car's reverse lights, so it un-dims when backing up the car.)
Wiring colors for GM and Chrysler factory auto dimming mirrors:

I tried to look and see where the wires are coming out at. With the Edge, the motor recesses in the engine bay so I can't get a look at it. I'm starting to think rear view mirror also. It has the t-taps like the first rear view mirror install. I will re-verify that the wires with the t-taps go to the power locks and horn. They might be wired for power when the ignition is on. These are coming directly from the fuse box under the dash.
I know the wire colors are very odd for a remote start/alarm system. I will update everyone once I figure it out. It looks like the drivers seat had been removed because they didn't put all of wiring clips back in place. Also appears that the console where the shifter goes has been removed. Looks like they tried to pry it out with a flat head screwdriver.
I will give it a better look tonight. Worked late last night so I didn't have time to check it out.
Thanks everyone for the input.
