My friend just installed a viper 7900 in his car. he got to works and everything so he installed his friends viper 7900 into a 99 civic dx, and it wont work. I did some basic voltage reading and it seems as if everything is connected good. the alarm wont respond at all. we installed his known good workin module and all we could get was a call on the pager. Also the remote they have doesnt seem to be the original, i cant seem to program it. Anyhelp would be awesome guys thanks a bunch!

Do a check list of what's needed, for instance, manual transmission? Clutch switch? Factory transponder immobiliser, is it by-passed? Tach learned etc. Correctly grounded? Have you metered between the power and ground lines? Try another remote? Is the antenna plugged in correctly?
If you don't know what's been done we can't help you!
Test the R/S by placing car in neutral and grounding the WHITE/ blue wire twice if auto if manual does it do the safe start procedure?
Have you programmed the remotes for either auto or manual transmission?

If not R/S ignore many of my comments such as tach, bypass, clutch switch, none required, just change the remote, it's faulty.
