98 grand caravan with ultrastart u2280

Hi, I was able to find a few wiring diagrams and a lot of information for my Dodge Caravan, thanks to the12volt. But I had a few questions regarding the specifics of my car and the alarm I wanted to install into it. 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan SE Here is the alarm, and link to the manual. Ultrastart U2280TL-XR PRO Product page: Product Page Product Manual: Install Manual My main questions were: 1) There is a Starter-kill/Anti-Grind output, as it says I need a relay for it, so I was wondering if this one would do. Relay 2) I also noticed I needed two resistors for the door lock/unlock wires. I'm don't know very much about resistors, so I was wondering if these would work. 1500 Ohm Resistor and 270 Ohm Resistor As I understood it, I could use a resistor that is around ~20 Ohms similar to the one needed (which is 250 Ohm). But I got confused about the Voltage of these two resistors. Does the Voltage matter? Do I need to find 12v 1500 Ohm, 250 Ohm resistors? Also, do I just solder them to the wires in series? 1) you need an automotive standard relay. A 30/40 amp relay that is SPDT.

85 - starterkill/antigrind from alarm/rs

86 - ignition 1 on car87a - starter wire key side30 - starter wire motor side.

2) yes those resistors will work fine. voltage doesnt matter.The way you would wire them is inline WITH the output. Solder everything. Howver, at times the output of the alarm is only 250ma, which may or may not be enough current for it to lock/unlock. If this is the case a relay will be required.

Ok, So I finally got my alarm system installed, a lot of trial and error and research paid off. I noticed I have two programmable aux outputs that are unused, and it said that I could use them for windows. The 98 Dodge Caravan wiring diagram tells me the color of the wires, but doesn't tell me the location. Does anyone know where I should look for the window wires?

I know I have the right Tach Wire connected, because it worked great the other day while installing it. I was able to "learn" it and it started perfectly everytime. Then I disconnected the battery wire to put the alarm in a nice location and now I can't remote start the car. I have tried everything from system resetting, relearning tach, changing to tachless mode, to disconnecting the battery for 20+ seconds, to disconnecting the Ultrastart brain unit. My question is: Does anyone know how to get out of Tach Lockout? The manual says "see dealer" on Tach Lockout. As I got it off ebay, I don't think they can help me (although I did email them last night), plus on Ultrastart's website, they say they won't support or warranty any online sales customers.

It doesn't even crank. But I figured out what it was. In the process of me installing the starter kill relay (per the most common starter relay diagram on here) I guess that isn't compatible with the remote start. I kinda physically broke the relay, so I'll have to get one tomorrow and wire it per the second diagram and test that. Reason I know it was the starter kill was because I cut the starter kill and reconnected the starter wire and the remote starts works! Thanks for taking the time!
